Frequently Asked Questions
Are there standard window and door screen sizes?
Every opening is different, but we custom-make all our products to fit your space perfectly. Our professionally trained technicians are experts at measuring, manufacturing and installing screens to fit your home.
How do I know I need to replace my window or door screens?
Typically, screens last from 8-10 years, depending on the sun damage, usage, and exposure. Once your screens start to fade, tear, or no longer fit tightly within the opening, it may be time to replace your screens. If your screens are wearing out sooner than expected, consider using Sun Control screens to help prolong their use.
Do you ship your products?
We do not ship our products. Since screens are often large and bulky, we cannot guarantee the safe delivery of products.
How does your service work?
We provide our customers with a simple and stress-free experience, from the initial service call to the completion of the project. Our vehicles are custom outfitted with everything we need to measure, make and install products right there on site. We have a wide selection of “screen” related products designed to transform your home into a beautiful and bug-free space.
Your website shows that there is not a location that services my area. What do I do?
We are always looking to expand and grow our team. Unfortunately, we do not yet have a location near you. If you are interested in starting a Screenmobile franchise, please reach out to our Franchise Development team. Try checking with your local glass shop or hardware store for screening recommendations.

My pet keeps damaging my screens. Do you have a stronger screen for pets?
There are several options available to protect your screens from pets. Our popular “pet screen” is more durable than other screen products, but other options include pet guards, pet doors, stainless steel mesh, and more. Call us today to see which application will work best for you!
Do you have screens for tiny “no-see-um” bugs?
You bet! We have a denser weave fabric to help keep the tiniest of insects from coming into your home.

Can motorized porch screens be linked with home automation?
Yes, Somphy’s “My Link” system (the motorization system) can be connected with most home automation systems.
How are screens different from window tinting?
Screens are much more effective at reducing heat than window tinting. Window tinting is applied directly to the glass, which still allows the glass to heat up and transfer that heat into your home. Our screens are designed to go on the outside of the windows, shading the glass, and reducing the amount of heat entering your home.
What is the best way to wash my screens?
Start by removing the screens from the opening and lay them on a flat surface (a driveway, lawn, or patio works great). Use soapy water and a soft rag to gently clean both sides of the screen, including the frame. Be careful to avoid putting too much pressure on the fabric, since this can cause the screen to loosen and sag. Rinse both sides and repeat as needed. Let air dry before re-installing.
